
Dr. Bob Gray has been the pastor of the Longview Baptist Temple of Longview, Texas for the last 27 years. Under his leadership, LBT has won over 1,000,000 people to Christ.
Dr. Gray attended Michigan State University and worked seven years as an accountant for General Motors at Kalamazoo, Michigan before entering the ministry at the age of twenty-eight. He attended Hyles-Anderson College in Hammond, Indiana and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1976. While attending Bible college, he was listed in the "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities." He also served on the staff of the college. Dr. Gray received honorary doctorates from Hyles-Anderson College and Tri-State Baptist College.
Under Dr. Gray's leadership, the Longview Baptist Temple expanded her ministries in 1982 by establishing Texas Baptist College, a four-year Christian college. In January of 1998, the church began publishing a Christian magazine called "The Baptist Magazine" which is printed every other month and sent to subscribers around the nation.
Dr. and Mrs. Gray have been married for 42 years. They have four married children and 10 grandchildren. Their oldest son, Dr. Bob Gray II, is the youth pastor at Longview Baptist Temple. Their other son, Dr. Scott Gray, is on faculty at Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana.
